Aquired Affect (Oshare Kei Tomas Mascinskas)

Ok so, I *get* the initial oomph of shock factor and it certainly jumps out and catches my eye - this would definitely turn my head if you were walking down the street. Buuut, once you get past the initial rush this is less appealing. Don't get me wrong, there are some great individual parts. The hair cut/colour/styling is fantastic and I think possibly the best individual part. The techniques shown on the nails and the eyelashes are impressive. (Here comes the but) But, as a whole? It's just too much.

There is too much going on and it is difficult to focus on any one part when the full look is so so overwhelming. The sheer amount of neon pinks and yellows and blues and different cuts and angles detract from the look "working" as a cohesive set. It needs some non-patterned parts. A one-colour tee or jacket. Maybe both eyes the same for symmetry's sake. Keep the opposing eyelash looks, but give both eyes the same surround as the left (your right) eye.

Overall lots of good ideas in here and demonstrating impressive technique, but I feel like there is just too many things thrown at the canvas. Breaking this look into three or four different works and developing each part separately with some plainer outsets would give them a chance to breathe and have a better impact than the current overwhelming kitchen sink approach.
